Stainless Springsteel Wires according to EN 10270-3 / EN 10088-1

Wires, which are usually used in the cold drawn condition in the form of wire of circular cross-section up to 10,00 mm. Mainly used for the production of springs and spring parts that are exposed to corrosive effects and sometimes to slightly increased temperatures.

Within EN 10270-3 the main kinds of wire are 1.4310 (AISI 302), 1.4401 (AISI 316) and 1.4568 (AISI 631. Additional there are also used the following qualities corresponding to EN 10088-1/EN 10088-3 for the production of springs: 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti), 1.4539 (AISI 904L).

AISI 302 (1.4310) can be deliverd with normal strength (NS) or high strength (HS).

The spring characteristic of AISI 631 (1.4568) is driven by the tempering process of the springs. Consequently the springs should be tempered corresponding to EN immediately after winding operation to avoid cracks.

Duplex-material for the production of springs is another quality comming up over the last few years. We offer AISI 211 SGB (1.4162), AISI 324SGB (1.4362) and AISI 329SGB (1.4462).
